Mrs. Scherpenisse: Kindergarten Teacher
Our outstanding and dedicated teacher, Mrs. Scherpenisse (think “sure-pen-eez”), takes great pride in introducing ‘formal education’ to her students in a positive way, using a combination of creative, innovative, and traditional teaching strategies. Meet the Teacher Before School Begins
Before the school year starts, our teacher visits each student at home, giving families a chance to meet one-on-one, ask questions, and talk about the upcoming year. During the visit, Mrs. Scherpenisse shares a special craft or activity with your child, helping build comfort, connection, and excitement before the first day of school.
Vicky Tejada: Teacher’s Assistant
Mrs Tejada (think “teh-yah-da) is our teacher’s assistant. Along with her wonderful smile and sense of humor, she brings a wealth of experience and training to our classroom! She is a knowledgeable childhood educator who has worked in both early childhood and elementary school classrooms. She has also worked with a variety of children with special needs, and believes in fostering strong relationships and communication with parents. Outside of our classroom, family life keeps her busy, and she is a fearless volunteer who has coached junior high volleyball and taken many leadership roles in community organizations.
