Mrs. Scherpenisse: Kindergarten Teacher

Our outstanding and dedicated teacher, Mrs. Scherpenisse (think “sure-pen-eez”), takes great pride in introducing ‘formal education’ to her students in a positive way, using a combination of creative, innovative, and traditional teaching strategies. Mrs. Scherpenisse brings extensive experience in early childhood education and takes great pride in supporting and celebrating her students’ growth and accomplishments. More about our teacher here.

Meet the Teacher Before School Begins
Before the school year starts, our teacher visits each student at home, giving families a chance to meet one-on-one, ask questions, and talk about the upcoming year. During the visit, Mrs. Scherpenisse shares a special craft or activity with your child, helping build comfort, connection, and excitement before the first day of school.

Vicky Tejada: Teacher’s Assistant

Mrs Tejada (think “teh-yah-da) is our teacher’s assistant. Along with her wonderful smile and sense of humor, she brings a wealth of experience and training to our classroom! She is a knowledgeable childhood educator who has worked in both early childhood and elementary school classrooms. She has also worked with a variety of children with special needs, and believes in fostering strong relationships and communication with parents. Outside of our classroom, family life keeps her busy, and she is a fearless volunteer who has coached junior high volleyball and taken many leadership roles in community organizations.
